Magistrates hit a Northampton driver with a whopping £1,500 penalty after he was stopped using his phone behind the wheel with a child strapped in by an adult's seatbelt.

Gabriel Raducanu, 33, was also fined for having no insurance and driving with a provisional licence when officers pulled over his Ford Focus in Towcester Road, Northampton in May this year.
