Two in custody after armed police deployed to Kettering

Two people are in police custody after armed police swooped in Kettering this afternoon (Tuesday).

A car linked to weapons was sighted in the Windmill Avenue area, with armed officers deployed to the busy street at about 1pm.

A police spokesman said they arrested two people on suspicion of weapons offences.

A spokesman said: “Armed officers were deployed to Windmill Avenue today (December 29) at about 1pm, after a car linked to weapons offences was sighted in the area.

“Two people – a boy aged 17 and a man aged 26, were both arrested on suspicion of weapons offences and are currently in police custody.”
