Two 15-year-olds are facing charges including car theft, possession of cannabis and assaulting an emergency worker following an incident in Earls Barton.

The schoolboys — who cannot be named for legal reasons — were arrested following the discovery of a Mini in a car park just minutes after it had been taken from a property in the village on January 3.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police confirmed one 15-year-old has been charged with theft and driving without a licence or insurance.

The second teenager has also been charged with theft, assault and possession of a Class B drug.
