At Northampton Magistrates' Court on Wednesday (July 22) Major admitted theft by employee between October and November last year.

In total she stole £5,190 by cheating the till when punters placed bets with a debit card.

Major, of Hertford Road in Kettering, had to tell the till of the debit card transaction so it knew how much had been traded each day, and she would then transfer it from the till electronically with a switch code.

Instead, after telling the till of the amount she did not make the correct switch code electronic transfer - physically taking cash from the till and hiding it under betting slips.

Her crime went unnoticed until the Coral head office spotted the anomaly and launched an investigation.

Major was granted unconditional bail ahead of her sentencing on September 11.
