Thieves stole a collection of vinyl records after posing as police officers to trick their way into a home in Northampton.

The pair — both believed to be in their early 30s — claimed to be investigating a crime nearby before making off with cash, mobile phones and a collection of discs from the house in Cottarville, near Booth Lane South.

"The second offender is described as a white man also in his early 30s, about 5ft 10in, of slim build with short dark hair. He was wearing a light-coloured, long-sleeved jumper and trousers.

"If anyone saw anything suspicious in the area around Cottarville, we would encourage them to come forward and call us on 101 using incident number 20000421604."
