A serial shoplifter who stole 32 joints of meat from a Northampton Co-op will be sentenced at Crown Court later this month.

Nathan John Bettles admitted six charges of stealing meat from the Barry Road store between November 13 and November 26 this year.

On four occasions, 31-year-old Bettles left the store with five joints. He also took six joints on two other occasions.

He also admitted a further charge of stealing a pack of apple pies and a milkshake from the same store in Abington.

Wellingborough Magistrates remanded Bettles, who is of no fixed abode, in custody until a Crown Court date due on December 31.
