A teenager who burgled a village shop in East Northants has been sentenced to unpaid work.

Francis Moynagh, 19, stole four charity boxes and cigarettes worth £400 when he raided the Titchmarsh village shop in The Green on August 12 last year.

On Thursday - exactly a year since his criminal actions - he was sentenced at Northampton Magistrates' Court after admitting burglary.

Magistrates told Moynagh, of Dryden's Close in the village, he had to complete 150 hours of unpaid work as part of a community order.

He must pay £582.46 in compensation and will also take part in rehabilitation activities.
