Teenager, 15, charged with robberies at stores in Northamptonshire towns and threatening staff with a blade

A 15-year-old boy has appeared in court charged with carrying out robberies at Co-op supermarkets in two Northamptonshire towns.

The youth, of no fixed abode, first appeared before Wellingborough Youth Court earlier this month and is due before the same court for a further hearing on Monday, February 29.

It is alleged he committed a robbery and threatened a person with a blade on February 5, 2016 at the Co-op store in Birchfield Road East, Northampton.

He is also charged with committing a robbery and threatening a person with a blade on January 13, 2016 at the Co-op, Edinburgh Square, Daventry.

The teenager also faces charges of racially aggravated harassment and use of threatening behaviour to cause harassment, in Northampton on February 8, 2016.

He has currently been remanded to a secure training centre.
