A gang of teenagers threw a bottle of wine at a man as they chased him for a mile through a Corby park on Friday.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to the assault which ended when the victim reached West Glebe Sports Pavilion and managed to get help.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: "This incident took place between 6pm and 7.30pm on Friday, March 13, when a man was chased by a large group of teenagers from outside the shops on Rockingham Road to the West Glebe Sports Pavilion.

"During the chase, one of the boys threw a wine bottle at the man causing him to fall and cut his hand on the broken glass. When the man reached the pavilion, he was able to get help.

"We would ask anyone with information or who may have seen this incident to please call us on 101 quoting reference number 20000143116."
