A convicted sex offender is being held on remand after he admitted stalking a woman in Kettering.

Bill Connors, 20, will be sentenced next month after leaving his victim terrified after calling her more than 85 times in May.

Over the course of two weeks he also assaulted her and damaged her property, causing her to fear that violence would be used against her.

Connors, who formerly lived in a caravan off Braybrooke Road in Desborough, will also be sentenced for two breaches of the sex offender notification requirements.

He had previously been placed on the register for sex offenders, a measure designed to monitor those convicted of a sex crime by keeping tabs on where they are staying, who they are staying with and where they are going to try and prevent future offending. Failing to meet the register's requirements is a crime in itself, punishable by prison.

He was supposed to tell police of any address where he spent more than seven days in a 12-month period, or any address where he was at for more than 12 hours where a child resided.

But over a six-week period earlier this year he stayed at an address in Kettering without telling them, meaning his whereabouts could not be properly monitored.

Connors previously denied his crimes but at Northampton Magistrates' Court last week changed his plea to guilty on all three charges he faced.

He was remanded in custody and will be sentenced at Northampton Crown Court on August 14.
