Armed police were seen in Rushden.
Armed police were seen in Rushden.

Armed police were in Rushden yesterday (Sunday) for a pre-planned warrant, police have confirmed.

Several police vehicles and armed officers were seen around High Street and Church Street in the afternoon, as a police helicopter hovered above with roads closed off.

Today a Northamptonshire Police spokesman confirmed they were executing a pre-planned warrant in Church Street at about 12.30pm.

But the spokesman said the warrant was "negative", with no arrests or seizures.
