They deployed the special device to puncture the car’s tyres following a late-night chase.

The drama started when police spotted the blue Toyota Corolla being driven erratically on Pipewell Road, Desborough, at 10.40pm.

Officers pursued the driver towards Rushton before they stopped the car a short time later on Bridge Street, Rothwell, by using the stinger.

The driver fled on foot but was quickly seized by police nearby.

A man aged 21 from Corby was arrested on suspicion of driving offences.
