Police have vowed not to tolerate what they call motorcycle nuisance following an incident in Irthlingborough.

They want to tackle anti-social behaviour in the town, after a small group of children from the Allen Road area were found racing a bike around the estate, up and down Ebbw Vale Road, across meadows and into lakes.

Officers seized one bike after a member of the public took the key from the ignition while it was parked in Lodge Way. It was later found in Allen Road, taken away and crushed by police.

PCSO Simon Arthur, of East Northants Central SCT, said: “The bike has been crushed and the children spoken to.

“Motorcycle nuisance has been a problem in this area of Irthlingborough, especially in good weather, but we will not tolerate this and other types of anti-social behaviour which disrupt the lives of other people.”
