Northamptonshire Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area of yesterday’s stabbing to come forward.

Two men, aged 33 and 43, have been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident and remain in police custody at this time.The force now needs anyone who was in the Racecourse area or close to St George’s Avenue between 9.30am and 11am to come forward, even if they think they have not got any information.

Detective Inspector Pete Long said: “Detectives from across the region continue to work around the clock on this investigation and specialist officers have been deployed to the family of our victim to support them at this highly distressing time.

“I now want to take this opportunity to appeal to anyone who was on the Racecourse yesterday morning between 9.30am and 11am to come forward.

“Even if you don’t think you have any information that could help us, we still want to speak to you.”

Northamptonshire Police believes that this was an isolated incident and there is nothing to suggest any ongoing risk to members of the public.

Increased patrols continue to take place in the area to reassure the local community. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to approach an officer in the area.
