Police believe this man may have information about assault on shop worker in Northampton

Police officers have released an image of a man who they believe may have information about an assault in Wellingborough Road, Northampton.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police said: "At about 8.20am on Wednesday, August 12, a man approached a woman and whispered something in her ear, which caused her to run into a nearby shop and ask for help.

"A member of staff left the shop, and as he approached the man, he took a black canister out of his trouser pocket and sprayed the member of staff in the face, causing a burning sensation to his face and arm.

"Officers investigating the incident believe this man may be able to assist with their enquiries, and are appealing for him or anyone who may recognise him, to get in touch," the spokesperson added.
