Police appeal for information after hooded yobs smash up car parked in Northampton

Police are hunting hooded yobs who wrecked a parked a car in Northampton earlier this month.

The black Volkswagen Polo was trashed by a masked gang jumping on the roof, smashing windows and denting panels all over.

They fled towards Scribers Drive after the incident in High Street, Upton, between 10.05pm and 10.15pm last Saturday (July 11).

A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said: "The offenders who caused signifcant damage to the car were male and all wore dark clothing — including a hooded top which had the hood pulled up to cover their heads and faces.

"Officers are particularly keen to contact the occupant or occupants of a white Renault Megane which was seen twice just minutes before the incident, turning around in a junction opposite the black Volkswagen Polo.

"Anyone who may have any information regarding this incident, or CCTV in the area which may have picked up the offenders' movements, please call us on 101 using reference number 20000355566. Or you can remain anonymous by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
