A Northamptonshire Police dog helped catch a driver who tried to fight officers after fleeing an armed response vehicle (ARV).

A spokesman for the Northamptonshire Police dog section said the incident happened in the early hours of Saturday.

"A vehicle failed to stop in the early hours, the driver rammed an ARV despite having his tyres stung and still tried to fight officers after being boxed in and stopped. PD Bryn was deployed to help detain him and he was safely arrested by officers from Northants ARV," the spokesperson said.
