Two men were due to appear in court this morning (Monday) in connection with a ram-raid on a jewellery shop in Market Harborough where a vehicle was used to smash through a side door.

Steffans Jewellers, on the corner of St Mary’s Road and Nothampton Road in the town, was targeted at about 4.45am on Friday.

Lee Sherlock, 38, and Darren Williams, 35, of Northampton, have been charged with burglary and were due to appear at Northampton Magistrates’ Court this morning.

All the items thought to have been taken in the raid have now been recovered.

Northants Police say the two men are also being charged in connection with two other ram-raids which took place this month.

Sherlock and Williams are being charged with various offences including theft of a motor vehicle.

The first ram-raid happened on Sunday, November 2, at Nolan’s Jewellers in Wood Hill, Northampton.

The second was on Saturday, November 8, at the Mobile Phone Centre in Gold Street, Northampton.
