Northampton burglar who '˜targeted' village residents jailed for five years

Anthony Ash, aged 44, of Booth Meadow Court, Thorplands, Northampton was sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court after he admitted breaking into an unoccupied property in Olney sometime between January 28 and February 17.

The court heard Ash stole a digital camera and a gold cross.

Ash is already serving a three year term for other burglary offences carried out in Olney, and this new sentence of five years and four months will run concurrently to that.

Investigating Officer, Det Con Chris Bigg, of Force CID based at Milton Keynes police station, said: “Ash caused distress to his victims when he broke into their homes, particularly targeting Olney residents.

“I hope the fact that he has been given a further sentence for his crimes will come as welcome news for them.

“I hope it serves also as reassurance that we do take burglary seriously and we will do our utmost to investigate these crimes and bring to justice those who carry them out.”
