Bex Twomey, manager of the Kettering cafe, said she first noticed the letters were missing yesterday on New Year's Day.

Bewiched Coffee is in Kettering's High Street and Bex says there have been other incidents of damage in the High Street and at Bewiched.

Bex said: "I realised yesterday (that the letters were gone)."

They have not reported the incident to the police and said: "It's one of those things, you can't do much about it. Even if you follow it up, it comes to a dead end."

She said the cafe's CCTV does not cover the outside of the premises.

Bex said other businesses in the area have previously been broken in to and had windows smashed.

Bex said: "We've had other things, like a break in, before. It was last year, they stole a few things but not much"

She said it was sad that these things happen to independent local businesses.

Bewiched is an independently owned coffee chain with 11 cafes across Northamptonshire.
