The American woman accused of killing Harry Dunn in Northamptonshire has reportedly sought a 'resolution' with the British government through her lawyer.

Anne Sacoolas is said to want to return to the UK and her representatives spoke to a senior Foreign and Commonwealth Office official earlier this year, according to national reports.

Harry's mother, Charlotte Charles, said: "It is almost impossible to describe how much we are suffering. It is now eight months since Harry died.

"His 20th birthday came and went last month. As we have said from the start, we will get justice for our son.

"But now we have some hope and we are pleased to see at least that there is some dialogue towards her coming back.

"The only resolution that is acceptable is her going before the courts here in England."

Harry, 19, died after his motorcycle was involved in a collision with Sacoolas' Volvo, which she has admitted was on the wrong side of the road, near Croughton on August 27, 2019.

She initially co-operated with police but then told officers she had diplomatic immunity before flying back to the United States a few weeks later.

But Harry's family, who have been campaigning for Sacoolas to return and for an inquiry into the affair, argue she had no right to diplomatic immunity.

A Foreign Office spokesman said they 'have done and will continue to do everything we properly can to ensure that justice is done' for Harry's family.

"We believe Anne Sacoolas should return to the UK and face justice," the spokesman added.
