Officers closed off stretch of Billing Brook Road this week after litter pickers discovered a body.

Murder detectives are now linking the crime to the September 2013 disappearance of Adeyemi Olugbuyi -known as ‘Baz’ or ‘Big Man’ - who was last seen in North Holme Court, metres away from where the body was found.

Since that time, he has not been in any contact with family or friends.

A police spokeswoman said: “While formal identification has not yet taken place, officers are keeping an open mind and are urging anyone who has any information, especially surrounding the disappearance of Mr Olugbuyi, to make contact with the police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously.”

Several missing person appeals have been made by police since Adeyemi’s disappearance.

As part of the search, police searched an area of woodland near Heather Lane in Lumbertubs in May 2014.
