Motorist drives off after hitting boy, 15, in Wellingborough

A boy was taken to hospital after he was hit by a car in Wellingborough yesterday (Sunday).

The driver of the black Vauxhall Astra briefly got out of his vehicle after he hit the 15-year-old pedestrian in Queensway at about midday.

He spoke to the boy but then drove off and police are now investigating the incident.

The boy's injuries are not believed to be serious.

A police spokesman said: "He was driven to hospital with bruising but appears to be okay."

No further details about the driver were available at this stage.
