Mother and child left 'shaken' after car nearly hits them on zebra crossing in Northamptonshire

A mother was forced to pull her young child out of the way of a car that failed to stop at a zebra crossing.

The mother was using a zebra crossing on Gladstone Road, Spencer, in Northampton with her child when a car failed to give way, resulting in the woman having to pull the child out of the way of the car.

A police spokesman said neither the woman nor the child were injured but were shaken by the incident.

The car involved is believed to have been a red Renault Megane and was being driven by a black man.

The incident took place on the zebra crossing near Streatfield Road, at about 11.20am on Tuesday, March 8.

A bus was waiting at the crossing at the time and officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
