Military medals were stolen from a home in Wellingborough after burglars broke a window on Monday (August 10).

Police have launched an investigation after the burglary in Priory Road between 9.30pm and 10.50pm.

The burglar broke a rear window to gain access before stealing a red briefcase containing military medals and a beret.

A police spokesman said: "Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area of Priory Road, which backs onto Croyland Park, between the stated times.

"Anyone who may have any information regarding this incident is asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101 quoting reference number 20000315694. Or alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111."
