Man stabbed in back with broken bottle near shopping centre in Northamptonshire

A man needed six stitches in a back wound after he was stabbed with a broken bottle in Northamptonshire.

The 41 year-old man was walking along Billing Brook Road towards Weston Favell Centre in Northampton when he was assaulted.

He had walked past Standens Barn Road and was going under the flyover when a man approached him and assaulted him, possibly with a broken bottle, before running off towards Standens Barn.

The victim was taken to Coventry Hospital where he was given six stitches. The attack happened just after midday on Friday, January 22.

The offender is described as white, about 5ft 8in with dark hair. He was wearing blue jeans.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have any information regarding it.
