Man racially abused Polish woman and foreign passengers on bus in Northampton

A Polish woman who was with her young child was racially abused by a man on a bus in Northampton.

The man, described as white, in his late 40s, was travelling on the number 21 UNO bus between Northgate Bus Station and Weston Favell shopping centre, when he made a number of racist remarks towards other passengers.

He abused a Polish woman who was speaking in her native tongue to her young child. A fellow passenger challenged the man who continued to make racial remarks to the Polish lady and other foreign passengers on the bus.

The man is described as having a skinny build, about 5ft 10ins. He was wearing a black baseball cap and dark jacket and jeans. He was carrying two large shopping bags, one red and one blue.

Northamptonshire Police today released details of the incident, which happened sometime between 3.10pm and 3.40pm on Tuesday, April 12.

There were a number of passengers on the bus who would have witnessed the incident and police are urging them or anyone who knows the offender to come forward.
