Man and woman arrested over death of six-month-old baby in Northampton

A man and a woman were arrested on suspicion of manslaughter over the death of a six-month-old infant in Northampton on Wednesday.

Police were called to an address in Chalcombe Avenue, Kingsthorpe, on Wednesday evening (April 15) after reports a child had been found dead.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, the child was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Northamptonshire Police say a 33-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of manslaughter in connection with the death.

Today (April 17), both the man and the woman have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
