Sitek, of Pennine Way in Kettering, gained entry to the restaurant via a broken roof before helping himself to drinks and expensive electrical equipment.

In total he stole alcohol worth £511, 10 iPods, a mini iPad and a laptop, as well as £5 in cash.

He then left through the fire exit before he was later arrested in connection with the incident.

Last year Sitek was given unpaid work after burgling the town's Sports Direct to steal clothes and luggage.

But after hearing about "changes to his lifestyle", magistrates in Northampton decided to give him a last chance when they sentenced him for the restaurant raid earlier this month.

Sitek's 12-week prison sentence was suspended for a total of 18 months.

He was ordered to pay compensation of £516, court costs of £85 and a surcharge to fund victim services of £122.
