Kettering boy, 15, arrested on drugs offences and carrying a knife in Rugby

A 15-year-old from Kettering was arrested in connection with drugs offences in Rugby yesterday (Monday May 11).

Warwickshire Police also arrested a man from Daventry after the pair were tackled by CID officers after being spotted acting suspiciously.

Police seized quantity of drugs – believed to be crack cocaine – and a lock knife.

A police spokesman said: "At around 1.45pm officers from Rugby’s Proactive CID team were on patrol on Cross Street when they noticed two individuals acting suspiciously.

"A 15-year-old boy from Kettering was arrested on suspicion of possessing a knife and/or bladed article and being concerned in the supply of drugs. He has been bailed until 8 June. A 34-year-old man from Daventry was also arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs. He has been bailed until 3 June.

"Enquiries are currently ongoing but anyone with any information concerning suspected drug dealing in the area is asked to call 101 or report it via the force website. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their website."
