Emergency services were called to a westbound stretch of the A45 between Wilby Way and Great Doddington following the crash at around 6.40pm on Saturday (November 26).

A police spokeswoman said that, “for reasons unknown,” the car rolled several times and hit the central reservation. No other cars were involved in the collision.

The driver was left with serious head injuries and taken to University Hospitals Coventry.

As the road was covered in debris, the both directions had to be closed while the carriageway was cleared.

Northamptonshire Police is appealing for witnesses to the crash and is set to launch a formal appeal later today.

If you saw the incident, call the force non-emergency number on 101.
