Two people are in custody after an overhead spot from a police helicopter led to the discovery of a Kettering cannabis factory.

Police raided the home in Boardman Road at about 3pm yesterday (Tuesday) and found the sophisticated growhouse worth thousands of pounds.

The raid came after a National Police Air Service helicopter saw a large heat source as they flew over the area and gave information to the Kettering Police Team.

In total 91 plants were spread across four bedrooms upstairs and a 34-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of producing cannabis.

The pair, both from Kettering, remain in custody this morning.

The find is the latest discovery by officers on the ground in Kettering with two arrested when a cannabis factory was raided in Connaught Street on November 25.

Earlier this month they also found a set-up in St John's Road on the Ise Lodge estate, with a man later being charged.
