Group of teenagers threaten young boy in an attempt to rob his bike in Northampton

Officers are looking for witnesses after a gang of male teenagers threatened and attempted to rob a young cyclist at Kingfisher Lake in Northampton on Sunday, February 7.

The incident took place between 5.10pm and 5.25pm at the rear of Dairymeadow Court when a teenage cyclist was approached by a group of between five or six males aged between 14 and 18.

The gang threatened the boy and demanded his bike, however, the victim's sister joined him and they both left. The cyclist was not physically hurt and no property was stolen.

The group continued to walk around Kingfisher Lake.

One of the offenders is described as white, aged 14 to 16, five foot and seven inches to five foot and eight inches and of a slim build.

One of the other offenders is described as being of mixed race, aged 14 to 16, five foot and four inches, of a medium build with scruffy black hair. He was wearing a large puffa-style jacket.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police said: "Anyone who witnessed this incident or has any information which could assist with the investigation is asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101, quoting reference number: 21000078828 or, alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
