Gold jewellery and a silver Mercedes were stolen from a house in Northampton during an afternoon raid.

Sometime between 4pm and 5pm on Thursday, December 1 an offender smashed through the back door of a property in Yardley Drive, Kingsthorpe and took gold jewellery and the keys to a silver Mercedes, in which they drove off.

The Mercedes was later crashed and left abandoned nearby.

The offender was wearing a black beanie hat as well as dark casual clothing and has been described as a male, between 5ft 5 inches and 5ft 6 inches tall and of slim build.
