Frightened residents in a quiet Northamptonshire cul-de-sac were woken by a brick smashing double-glazed windows in the early hours of Friday morning.

A second brick damaged a window frame and green paint was thrown at the front of the house in Swansnest, Brixworth, between 3.30am and 3.40am.

A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said: "One brick was thrown the front window of the property smashing both panes of glass and a second brick thrown at the property caused damage to the UPVC frame and outer pane of glass on a second window.

"Green paint was also thrown causing damage to the same window, brickwork and front door.

"We are asking anyone who may have seen anything in the area of Swansnest or Holcot Road or have security cameras that may have caught the offenders, to call is on 101 using reference number 20000449291. Alternatively, who can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
