Five masked men threatened elderly householders and stole large amount of cash during burglary

Five men forced their way into a Northamptonshire home and stole a large a amount of cash after they threatened the elderly householders.

The thieves broke into the house in Kingswell Road, Kingsthorpe, Northampton, sometime between 8pm and 8.45pm on Tuesday.

The men called at the house and, when the door was opened, pushed their way in and threatened the elderly householders.

The victims were kept downstairs while the offenders searched the house and stole a large amount of cash.

The men were all white and had their faces covered. One of the men is described as 5ft 6in, with a slim build, about 48-years-old. He was wearing a plain black baseball cap.

Officers are appealing for information and are urging people never to open the door to anyone they are not expecting and to avoid keeping large amounts of cash in the house.

Witnesses to the incident, anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area on Tuesday evening or anyone with any information, are asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101.
