Drugs found after van driver flees from police in Kettering

Police seized seven large bags of drugs in Kettering after following a van of interest they spotted on the A43.

Officers spotted the vehicle at about 6pm on Monday (September 21) and tailed it until it got to Fir Road, when the driver got out and fled.

He was chased on foot through a number of surrounding streets by an officer before he was caught and arrested.

And when police searched the van they found seven large bags of suspected herbal cannabis in two boxes.

Inspector Darron Bishop said it was an "excellent result".

Xhafer Gjojdeshi, 26, of St James Park Road in Northampton, has since been charged with possession with intent to supply class B drugs in connection with the incident.
