Driver threatened at knifepoint and robbed in his own car in Northampton

Police are investigating an incident where a man was robbed as he sat in his vehicle in Cromwell Road, Northampton on Friday (January 22).

The robbery took place between 1pm and 1.30pm when two men got into the vehicle, threatened the driver with a knife and made him drive to the fuel station at the junction of St Andrew’s Road and Wilmington Terrace.

The driver was then forced to withdraw money from the cash point and then drive the men to Sheep Street. The offenders got out of the vehicle and walked through the church yard at the Holy Sepulchre Church.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police said: “The first offender was a white man in his early twenties. He was wearing a black puffa hooded jacket, black tracksuit bottoms and a black or dark coloured scarf or snood pulled over the lower half of his face.

“The second offender was also white and in his early 20s. He was wearing a black hooded top, black trousers and a dark coloured scarf or snood pulled up over the lower half of his face.”
