Distraction burglars stole money and jewellery from elderly woman in Northamptonshire

Burglars have stolen a 67-year-old engagement ring from an eldeely woman in Northamptonshire after they tricked their way into her property.

The 87-year-old woman was at home in Homestead Way, Northampton, sometime between 9pm and 9.30pm on Monday, February 22 when a man knocked on the window and said he was there to check the water.

He entered the property claiming that the warden had sent him. Once inside, he took the victim into the kitchen and left her there.

Two other men entered the property and carried out a search, stealing money and jewellery, including an engagement ring given to the victim by her husband, who died 20 years ago.

The first burglar is described as white, 6ft, 35 – 45 years of age, of stocky build with an Irish accent. He was dressed all in black.

The second offender was also dressed in black and the third man had a camel coloured coat on.
