A thug from Desborough who punched four people has been given another chance by magistrates.

Harry Broadwaters was spared from prison and instead told to take part in rehabilitation activities after an incident in the town on September 15 last year.

The 27-year-old admitted assaulting three men and a woman in High Street at about 3.20pm by punching them.

Two of his victims suffered bruising to their face.

When he was searched he had a hammer inside his bag and he was also in possession of cocaine.

Broadwaters, of Bittern Close, admitted four charges of assault, one of possessing a weapon in a public place and one of possessing cocaine.

Magistrates in Northampton sentenced him to 26 weeks in prison - but suspended the jail term for 24 months.

He must take part in rehabilitation activities and pay each assault victim compensation of £75.
