Another group of Northampton Covidiots have been booted out of Wales after police spotted them littering a local beauty spot on an illegal day trip.

Officers revealed they sent a car-load from Northampton packing — with orders to take their rubbish with them on the 4½-hour drive home.

Visits to Wales from England are still banned under Covid-19 lockdown laws.

A tweet from the Pembrokeshire Roads Unit said: "A total of nine persons have been reported this morning at Stackpole and Barafundle for breaching coronavirus regulations.

"Persons had travelled from Birmingham and Northampton respectively.

"We made sure the culprits cleaned up their rubbish and they were escorted from the area."

We revealed back in May how Welsh police hit a Northampton family with a VE Day lockdown fine after catching them 225 miles from home and also stopped a group from Kettering driving to the Dyfed-Powys region to go camping, both while the lockdown was still in full effect.

Restrictions have eased in England but the 'border' remains closed to day-trippers and holiday makers.

Information on the gov.wales website states: "We receive weekly updates from the four police forces in Wales, which monitor compliance with the regulations, we also monitor traffic flow on all main routes in and into Wales.

"We understand that having slightly different rules in Wales and England may be confusing for some, particularly along the border, and we are working very hard to make sure people are aware that in Wales, the Welsh rules apply.

"Travelling to Wales to spend time in the countryside or at the coast is not allowed under Welsh law.

"We will use whatever means are available to convey this message, including signs on the major roads and motorways and articles in local newspapers along our borders."
