The offences are alleged to have taken place in January last year.

Norman, 29, was due to enter a plea at Northampton Crown Court this morning but the case was unable to proceed.

Judge Rebecca Crane granted Norman, who represented himself in court, conditional bail ahead of his next hearing on July 15.

EDITOR'S NOTE: An earlier version of this story said "a paperwork mix-up by the Crown Prosecution Service meant the case was unable to proceed". The CPS has asked it to be made clear that this was not the case.
