A man who sexually assaulted a woman on a train near Kettering has been sentenced to a community order.

Saad Arshad, 38, admitted his crime at Northampton Magistrates' Court after the incident which took place on August 20 last year.

Arshad, of South Crescent in East Dene, Rotherham, was on a train that was travelling between Leicester and Kettering when he sexually touched his victim without her consent.

On Thursday (September 17) he was sentenced to a community order with electronic monitoring and rehabilitation requirements.

He will have to register with police in Rotherham as a sex offender.
