A Corby man who threatened to burn down a woman's house before skipping a court date has been sentenced after an appeal to track him down.

Earlier this month Anthony Levenie was wanted after he failed to appear at Northampton Magistrates' Court to find out his fate.

Magistrates had given the 27-year-old bail after he previously admitted threatening to burn the Corby house down in an incident on May 24.

But on August 5 a warrant was issued for his arrest after he didn't turn up to his sentencing hearing and he was later hauled back before the courts.

Levenie, of Ashley Avenue, was sentenced to a community order with rehabilitation requirements.

He must also pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £95.
