CCTV: Police hunt ‘aggressive’ robber who stole substantial amount of cash from Tesco in Northampton

CCTV of a man who stole a substantial amount of money from Mereway Tesco has been released by police.

A man approached a checkout assistant at Tesco in Mereway and asked her to change a £20 note. The man was aggressive to the assistant who changed the note.

The offender continued to be aggressive to the woman, telling her to continue handing over more cash, which she did.

The man then left the store with the cash which was a ‘substantial’ amount, according to a Northamptonshire Police spokesman.

He was a white man, of average height, athletic build and had dark brown hair, a tanned complexion and was in his mid to late 20s. He wore dark coloured slim fitted trousers and a light purple shirt with the sleeves rolled up.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may recognise the description of the man, pictured, or who may have any information regarding this incident.

The robbery took place on Tuesday, June 16.
