Detectives have issued a CCTV image of two men they want to identify following an armed robbery at a Northampton mini-market last month.

Terrified staff were threatened by robbers wielding hatchets at Ashvin Food and Wine in Duston during a lunchtime raid two days before Christmas.

Police initially put out descriptions of two men they wanted to speak to — one wearing a black jacket with a distinctive orange bag and another in a brown hoodie and grey joggers.

A spokesman said: "We now believe the two men pictured may have information about the incident in Quarry Road, between 1pm and 1.20pm on December 23.

"We would like them to come forward or, if anyone recognises the two men and can identify them, please call 101 using incident number 20000677119. Or, alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
