A dog named Demon left a young girl with a puncture wound and significant bruising after it bit her on the arm in Corby.

The owner of the pet, Marcin Kubik, and his younger brother Tomasz were spared from an immediate prison sentence at Northampton Crown Court on Monday (August 10) over the horrifying incident in 2018.

They had both been convicted of being the owner or person in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury after Marcin's American Akita called Demon attacked the young girl.

Marcin was not at the scene when Tomasz had taken the pet to the shops. He tied it to a fixed post outside Home Bargains in the Oasis Retail Park, Everest Lane, at about 2.20pm on December 21.

But the strong, muscular dog sank its teeth into the 10-year-old's upper left arm so hard it left a puncture wound and significant bruising.

Both Kubik brothers, who live in Portree Walk in Corby, were handed suspended sentences by a judge.

Both brothers must pay court costs but no compensation orders were made. Demon remains with them.
