BREAKING NEWS: Houses evacuated in Northampton after car crash leads to gas leak

Houses been evacuated in an area of Northampton and neighbours are being advised to close doors and windows after a car crash caused a gas leak on a residential street.

Police and fire services are attending an incident in Dulverton Road, Abington, Northampton, following a car accident where, for reasons yet unknown, a car hit a parked vehicle, which appears to have rolled into a gas meter.

As a result the gas meter has been damaged and some houses close to the incident have been evacuated.

Those living in the area are also being advised to keep doors and windows closed.

Officers were called to the incident at just after 3pm today, Friday, 29 July.
