Police are hunting two men who tried to rob a .14-year-old schoolboy in Northampton.

The pair, believed to be aged about 19 or 20, chased the victim across Upton Country Park on bikes before being shaken off.

A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said: "The 14-year-old was walking on his own in High Street, Upton, between 3.30pm and 4.20pm on Tuesday (September 15) when he was approached by two men on bikes.

"They demanded his headphones but the boy ran off. The men gave chase until he lost them at Upton Country Park.

"Both offenders were aged 19 to 20-years-old. One was wearing a blue jacket and had a blue man bag. He was riding a black Carrera mountain bike.

"The second offender was wearing blue jeans and was riding a black and green mountain bike.

"We would ask if anyone witnessed this incident or has any information, please call us on 101 using reference number 20000484839. Alternatively, if you wish to stay anonymous, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111."
