Boys assault passer-by who tried to stop them throwing snowballs in Northamptonshire

A man was punched in the face when he confronted a group of teenagers throwing snowballs at passing cars in Northamptonshire.

The victim approached the boys on Collyweston Road, Northampton, at around 1pm yesterday (Sunday, January 17).

When the man stated their actions were causing a hazard to passing vehicles, one of the boys punched him to the face.

The victim was then subjected to a “sustained assault” by the group, according to a police spokeswoman.

He suffered facial injuries and required hospital treatment.

A police spokeswoman said the first teen was white, around 15 years of age, 6ft tall, of normal build, with shaved, fair hair and a small amount of facial hair around the chin. He was also wearing a dark coloured coat.

The other three were white, around 15 years of age and slightly smaller build than the first offender.
